  Hmmm...beyond my current capabilities? I can act (I'm really rather good, actually) so I guess being a famous renowned actress is kind of within the present realm.

  I would say play piano like Farkel. Be able to play ANY musical instrument perfectly and passionately.

  Kewl Beans, Beryl! I wanna invite to your Academy Awards Celebration...K?...and playing musical instruments is one of my dreams, too...I love music. :)

  People tease me for being short, and I respond, "I am exactly the height I'm supposed to be."

  I plan on bringing the subject round to things that will make them think, but without revealing that I used to be a witness. If you invite them in, they're pretty much a captive audience whilst they've got a full cup in tea in their hand.

This really should be read by those who think they're ready or have unrealistic views about childrearing. You know who you are! It ain't all peaches and cream ladies.

  Ariell, after reading the replies you've recv'd so far, there might be differences of opinion between parents with minors and parents with grown children. Ya never know what you've given birth to, till they're grown. Especially if they grow up to be deviant sociopaths.

  i am interested to know whether jw's or ex jw's on this board really did believe 100%.

  did you have doubts all of the time, did you have some confusion or did you never doubt at all?

  i recognise that most on this board will have had doubts at the end but was this always the case when you were a good dub?

  B, I had doubts before I was baptised....but my reasons for allowing them to dissimilate and set aside my "issues" and continue on for so many years, from baptism on....is because my true reason for beginning a study with them was not to seek the truth, (they convinced me temporarily that was most important)....but I knew that there is a group of people on earth that are God's people and I was searching on my own for them.....I wanted to believe the JWs ARE God's people, ergo I swept my doubts under the "carpet" and carried my "torture stake" until I finally, without doubt, came to realize they WEREN'T God's people...I don't care WHOSE name they carry....their facade of "loving-kindness" is purely steaming cow pies.....and in the natural course of events, I came to research and learn that not only were they NOT God's people, but they do NOT teach the truth....I found that out when I took "a pause to see.".....and the truth of those matters set me free.

  And now I know that if God's people do exist on this planet.....they exist scattered over the face of the earth....they're out to "pasture", not in harness so they can be more easily "fleeced" by a borganization.

  Teej, you're very fortunate that your status as "inactive" allows you to do this. :)

  If I see them doing street work, mall work, or at the DMV (they do this in California, don't know about other places), I will deliberately go over to their table and engage them in conversation. It's a captive audience - they are in a public venue and can't simply walk away, nor can they tell me to go away.

  I am polite, but start asking them questions about the blood issue, tax paying in France, pedophiles in the organization, etc. Once the seed has been planted, I hope they will do follow up research.

  If they do come, though, I will first of all be polite to them, recalling how miserable I was in field service and how much I wanted not to be there. Secondly, I will let them have their say. If I see an opener, I'll try to steer the conversation in a direction that raises questions in their minds (I have a wealth of experience and knowledge to draw on). And finally, if they should happen to offer me a bible study, I'm likely to accept without ever mentioning my previous association. Witnesses can't just blatantly damn the internet in this day. It's as integral to life (at least in my country) as is a telephone. So when I, the newly interested one, come up with questions like they invited me to do, and show them the information on the internet, they're going to be hard pressed to condemn it outright

  COMF! How insightful!....and how fortunate you are to live in an area where you're not *known* by them so it'll be easy to pull this off....just beware the visiting circus serpent who may have been transferred from an area where you were formerly *known*...LOL!

  I need advice quick...and a hug.

  i'm in a bit of a state at the moment, my wife has just left me about 30 mins ago and took the kids...i don't know where.... ok, some of you long-timers may remember the problems i had with my son ben, who decided that the jw religion wasn't for him about a year ago.

  i supported him as best i could through that and he's developed into a fine young man with a more healthy spiritual attitude, investigationg a number of christian churches in the area and finally settled on church of england, which he really likes now.. although no longer a christian myself i have no objection to them pursuing whatever religious path they choose (obviously within reason).

  that has been the case with all of my children: ben, 15, charlotte, 14 and chloe, 12. i have never attempted to stop my wife taking them to the meetings although i have voiced to them privately my concerns about the religion.

  Dean, remember this one thing re: her return and request that YOU leave....legally, whoever leaves the house has done the abandoning....evidently, your wife discovered that while she was "out" and returned to request that YOU leave, so she'll have the upper hand in divorce, custody and community property issues...

  [email protected] thing is....I didn't learn to make Dolmas when we lived in Nicosia, Cyprus....a nice little ol' Syrian lady who used to own a restaurant here in my home town taught me....and they ARE scrumptious!
